A total of eight student panels submitted their nomination papers on Wednesday for the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election, according to the DUCSU Election Commission.
The panels are: the Chhatra Dal-backed panel, Oikyojot (United Students’ Alliance), DUCSU for Change, Anti-Discrimination Students’ Union, DU First, Protirodh Parishad, Aparajeyo 71 Adommo 24, and Islami Chhatra Andolon.
Election officials confirmed that these eight groups are set to contest in this year’s election. However, the Independent Students’ Unity panel has not yet submitted its nomination papers.
Tuesday was the last day for collecting nomination forms, while Wednesday marked the final day for submission.
According to the election schedule, the deadline for withdrawing candidacy is August 25. The final list of candidates will be published the following day, with voting scheduled for September 9.
