Bangladeshi mountaineer Babar Ali has made history as the first person from the country to summit Mount Annapurna I, which rises to 26,545 feet (8,091 meters).
Babar reached the summit early today, alongside his climbing guide, Phurba Angel Sherpa.
The accomplishment was officially confirmed by Vertical Dreamers, a Bangladeshi organization that supports high-altitude expeditions.
Hailing from Chattogram, Babar`s successful climb represents a major milestone in the history of Bangladeshi mountaineering.
