The British Council has announced the opening of applications for the 12th edition of its prestigious Study UK Alumni Awards, inviting UK-educated professionals in Bangladesh to apply by 16 October 2025.
The awards recognise the achievements of international UK alumni who have used their education to drive positive change in their communities, industries and countries. This year’s awards will again be contested across four categories: Science and Sustainability, Culture, Creativity and Sport, Social Action, and Business and Innovation.
National finalists from Bangladesh will be revealed in December 2025, while the global winners will be announced in August 2026 and celebrated through a digital campaign. Bangladesh will also host a national ceremony to honour local finalists.
According to the British Council, the global winners are selected from 28 finalists by an independent judging panel and will receive opportunities to enhance their international profile, grow their professional networks and take part in a dedicated networking visit to the UK.
Speaking about the launch of the awards, Stephen Forbes, Country Director Bangladesh, British Council, said the programme highlights the enduring impact of UK education worldwide. “The Study UK Alumni Awards give returning alumni an opportunity to showcase their achievements and inspire the next generation to create positive change,” he said.
Last year, the awards received more than 1,300 applications from international UK alumni across nearly 100 countries. The 11th edition, celebrated at a national ceremony in Dhaka in February 2025, showcased winners and finalists from a wide range of sectors.
Applications for the Study UK Alumni Awards 2026 can be submitted online. Detailed information on categories, eligibility and the application process is available at the British Council’s official website: https://www.britishcouncil.in/study-uk/alumni-awards.
