The Government of Bangladesh has confirmed that two Bangladeshi nationals were killed and seven others injured in missile and drone attacks across different parts of the Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said in a press release on Monday, 2 March. The government expressed that it is “deeply saddened” by the casualties amid the escalating regional conflict.
In the United Arab Emirates, Saleh Ahmed from Baralekha, Sylhet, was killed in Ajman after being struck by debris from an aerial attack on a civilian installation. The Bangladesh Embassy in the UAE is in close contact with local authorities and is arranging assistance to repatriate his body once commercial flights resume.
In Bahrain, one Bangladeshi national was killed and three others injured. The Bangladesh Mission in Manama is coordinating with local authorities regarding the incident.
In Kuwait, four Bangladeshis—Aminul Islam from Nabinagar, Brahmanbaria; Rabiul Islam from Sathia, Pabna; Masudur Rahman from Begumganj, Noakhali; and Dulal Miah from Chandina, Cumilla—were injured in a drone attack near a civilian airport. They have received medical treatment and are currently stable. The Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait remains in close contact, and the ambassador personally visited them at the hospital.
Separately, the Bangladesh Shipping Corporation vessel Banglar Joyjatra is stranded at Jebel Ali Port in the UAE. Embassy officials confirmed all crew members are safe and are maintaining communication with the ship’s captain.

The government reiterated its concern over the deteriorating situation in the Middle East, the press release stated:
Safety and security of more than six million Bangladeshis living in the Middle East are the topmost concern of the Government.
Bangladesh missions in the affected countries have been instructed to issue advisories urging nationals to remain vigilant and follow the guidance of local authorities.
