Mixed trading on Bangladesh stock exchanges in early session

Trading on Bangladesh’s stock markets showed a mixed pattern on Wednesday, with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) posting gains while the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) saw a decline in its key index during the first half of the session.

The DSE’s benchmark index, DSEX, rose by 47 points in the early hours of trading. The Shariah-based DSES index increased by 8 points, and the blue-chip DS30 index gained 11 points.

Most listed companies at the DSE witnessed price appreciation, with 325 advancing, 29 declining, and 38 remaining unchanged. Turnover at the exchange stood at approximately Tk 330 crore during the period.

In contrast, the CSE’s overall index, CASPI, fell by 46 points in the first half. However, the majority of companies still recorded gains, with 51 advancing, 48 declining, and 18 remaining unchanged. Turnover at the CSE reached Tk 4 crore during the session.
