Two killed as CNG hits divider in Tejgaon

Two people were killed and two others injured after a CNG-run auto-rickshaw crashed into a road divider in the Tejgaon Industrial Area of the capital on Friday night.

The accident occurred around 10:00 pm when the Mohakhali-bound auto-rickshaw, carrying three passengers, struck a road divider while taking a U-turn, leaving all four occupants injured.

The victims were identified as CNG driver Alim, 48, and passenger Harunur Rashid, 32, a resident of Kishoreganj district.

Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp, said the injured were taken to the hospital where doctors declared the driver and one passenger dead.

The two injured passengers — Happy Akter, 22, and Brishti Akter, 25  are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, he added.
