Believe bigger and boost confidence

Do we remember Steve Jobs? If we do, I do believe, we are well aware of his zero to hero story from his incredible commencement address at Stanford University, USA on June 12, 2005.

In that speech, he said, “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.”

Dream is what differentiates great people from ordinary people. Ordinary people only dream about what they can achieve. For all of Steve Jobs’s struggles and faults, we cannot help but admire his life of dedication to his goals. In spite of great personal difficulties, Jobs was able to make his dream a reality because he never stopped believing. Not only had that he never given up even when it seemed like the goal was unreachable. His goal was more than making money; he was deeply committed to his vision of creating "insanely great" products. It is what he always believed in and boosted up his hard work and determination to invent the products one can ever imagine.

There are thousands of stories like this. I believe, even most of us have such motivational stories. The only regret is that we never bring them in spotlight when we become worried, stressed or upset. So, why is it we don’t believe it ourselves? That as soon as things get tough in our lives we start doubting ourselves. We start thinking that we may not make it. Stressing, worrying, imagining things may go wrong in the future. We need to understand, the human mind is the most powerful tool we own, but it can also be the most destructive. Jodi Picoult said, “When we’re different, sometimes we don’t see the millions of people who accept us for what we are. All we notice is the person who doesn’t”. And, we need to learn how to take control of the direction of our mind and our emotions. Our mind is going to provide us our greatest challenges in life, because it is so powerful. Therefore, if we can conquer our mind, we can pretty much conquer anything else around us, literally.

What would we dare to dream if we believed in ourselves with such deep conviction that we had no fears of failure whatsoever? Most people start off with little or low self-confidence, but because of their own efforts, they become bold and brave and outgoing. In addition, we have discovered that if we do the same things that other self-confident men and women do, we, too, will experience the same feelings and get the same results. The key is to be true to ourselves, to be true to the very best that is in us, and to live our life consistent with our highest values and aspirations. This is the only way to truly learn how to believe in ourselves.

Take some time to think about who we are and what we believe in and what is important to us. Moreover, more importantly, never compromise our potential to grow due to self-limiting doubts. Instead, embrace our confidence and believe in ourselves because we really can do anything we put our minds to. By believing in ourselves, we will find the courage to take immediate action on our goals. Added to this, as we may know, is the key to success!

Therefore, from now on, we will believe that our life is about to go to the next level. Our hard work is paying off and we will give ourselves much-needed rest and healing. We will appreciate this effort and we will be proud of what we have done. We will dream big, believe bigger and boost up our confidence to make it happen.
