317 new dengue cases in 24 hours, no deaths reported

A total of 317 new dengue patients were hospitalized across the country in the 24-hour period between Saturday and Sunday morning. No fatalities were reported during this time.

According to the latest data from the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room, Barishal division recorded the highest number of new infections, with 127 cases.

Barguna district, in particular, continues to raise concern as it reported 102 new cases in the past 24 hours—its highest single-day spike this year. This brings the total number of infections in the district to 3,459. Barguna has so far recorded 28 dengue-related deaths.

As of now, dengue has claimed 45 lives nationwide in 2025, with a total of 12,271 people infected since the beginning of the year.

In comparison, Bangladesh reported 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths in 2024. The previous year, 2023, saw a record 321,179 cases and 1,705 deaths, making it the deadliest year on record for dengue in the country.

Health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and urge the public to remain vigilant, particularly in areas with high infection rates.
