The 14th session, which will start on September 1 (Wednesday), will be held on Friday due to the pandemic, the national parliament joint secretary Md. Tarik Mahmud said.
The session will start at 4 pm on the day, Tarik said on Wednesday (August 25).
“The JS session this time will continue for four working days. The decision has been taken considering the coronavirus infection in the country,” Tarik Mahmud said.
The parliament official said, “The MPs and other officials have to enter the Sangsad conducting corona test. If there is any adjournment, anyone might be contaminated in the virus. Hence, we decided to continue the session on Friday.
However, journalists will not be provided pass this time. Bangladesh Television will telecast the session live.
There is a constitutional obligation to hold JS session within 60 days after the previous session is over. Earlier, the budget session of this parliament concluded on July 3.
