Bangladesh Railway authorities have formed two separate bodies to investigate Saturday's fire incident at intercity Parabat Express at Kamalganj upazila in Moulvibazar.
Jahangir Hossain, General Manager of Bangladesh Railway East Zone, confirmed the news.
He said: "Each committee--divisional and zonal--has four members and they have been asked to submit reports within three days."
"The two committees will be led by Chief Commercial Manager of Bangladesh Railway East Zone and Chief Mechanical Engineer of Bangladesh Railway East Zone respectively," he added.
The fire broke out at the power car or restaurant car of the moving train at 12:45pm on Saturday when the train reached near Shamshernagar Air Base, halting the rail communications on Dhaka-Sylhet route.
Three compartments of the train were gutted during the fire. However, no casualties were reported.
