Former Bangladesh Cricket Team Captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is appointed as Whip of the national parliament. Four others are going to be appointed as Whips along with him.
National parliament Chief Whip and Whip appointment notification has been issued on Tuesday.
The notification signed by Senior Secretary K M Abdus Salam was issued from the Human Resource Branch-1 of the Parliament Secretariat.
The President has appointed Nur-e-Alam Chowdhury elected from Madaripur-1 as the Chief Whip of the 12th national parliament.
In a separate notification, five more people have been appointed as whips.
They are, Iqbalur Rahim (8 Dinajpur-3), Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan (35 Joypurhat-2), Md. Nazrul Islam Babu (205 Narayanganj-2), Saimum Sarwar Kamal (296 Cox`s Bazar-3), and Mashrafe Bin Mortuza (94 Narail-2).
