Actress Nusrat Faria has been sent to jail following her arrest in connection with an attempted murder case filed with Vatara Police Station.
On Monday, a Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate ordered her to be taken into custody.
According to the prosecution, authorities sought to keep her detained in connection with the case, which names her as an accused in an attempted murder charge stemming from incidents during a mass uprising in July.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court granted the prosecution`s request to remand her in jail.
Nusrat Faria was presented before the court in the morning by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
She had been arrested a day earlier at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport while attempting to travel to Thailand.
Immigration police apprehended her at the airport based on an outstanding arrest warrant related to the case.
Following her arrest, she was initially taken to Vatara Police Station but later transferred to the DB office.
Nusrat Faria began her film career in 2015 and has since acted in several films in both Bangladesh and India. She is also active in modeling and television hosting.
