In the past 24 hours till Tuesday morning, Bangladesh logged another 775 Covid-19 cases – the highest single-day count in three months.
Over the period, six people-- four men and two women-- died across the country, taking the tally to 28,087.
The last time more cases were confimred was on October 4 when 794 people tested positive for the deadly virus.
The daily infection rate, according to the latest data released by the health authorities, took another leap to 3.91%, up from Monday’s 3.37%.
With the latest development, the total caseload stands at 1,587,915.
Dhaka recorded the most cases among the eight divisions, logging 655 infections.
With three deaths, Dhaka also topped the list of the latest countriwide Covid fatalities.
Another 185 people recovered from the illness, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,549,956.
As many as 19,838 samples were tested across the country. The latest figures put the recovery rate at 97.61% and the mortality rate at 1.77 %.
The seven-day moving average of single-day deaths in Bangladesh was 3.57 on Tuesday.
