No one will be allowed to enter Bangladesh again from Myanmar amid the unrest in the Bangladesh-Myanmar border, said Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen.
He said this after a meeting with the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen at the Foreign Ministry on Monday (January 23).
Referring to Rohingyas seeking refuge in Bangladesh again, the foreign minister said, "The Ministry of Home Affairs is working on this, basically we will not allow anyone to enter Bangladesh from Myanmar."
Momen said, "The chaos that is going on between the no-man’s-land of Bangladesh and Myanmar has caused several people to run around in fear and panic. Many houses have been set fire. The Ministry of Home Affairs can give details on this."
The issue of not allowing Russian-flagged ships to unload goods at Mongla port also discussed in the meeting with new Chinese diplomat.
In this regard, the foreign minister said, "Bangladesh did not expect that the goods sent from Russia, changing the name of the ship, for the Rooppur nuclear power project."
He told the Chinese Ambassador that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not know anything about the location of the Russian ship under the US sanctions.
