In celebration of International Women’s Day, Biman Bangladesh Airlines took a bold step in promoting gender equality by operating a special ‘All Women Flight’.
Today, the BG-388 flight, which traveled from Dhaka to Bangkok and back, was fully staffed by women.
The flight took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:20 AM with 120 passengers on board and landed at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 3:00 PM.
At the helm of the flight were Captain Anita and First Officer Tasnuva. Along with them, five female cabin crew members provided onboard services, ensuring a smooth journey for all passengers.
This flight was not only an exciting moment for the airline but also a clear statement of Biman’s commitment to women’s empowerment.
Women were entrusted with every essential role on the flight, including passenger check-in, passport checks, boarding gate supervision, baggage loading, and even preparing the trim sheet.
The special initiative highlights Biman Bangladesh Airlines` support for gender equality, the empowerment of women, and the importance of working toward a world free of violence and discrimination against women.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time the airline has celebrated Women’s Day in this manner.
Last year, Biman operated a similar ‘All Women Flight’ on the Dhaka-Dammam route to Saudi Arabia.
This move by Biman Bangladesh Airlines shines a light on the importance of gender equality in the workplace and beyond, sending a powerful message on International Women’s Day.
