According to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, the Panchagarh attack on the Ahmadiyya community was carried out by the BNP-Jamaat.
He claimed that after the incident, 81 people were detained, including BNP leader Fazle Rabbi, who acknowledged planning the assault.
The Home Minister disclosed that Jamaat-e-Islami activists and BNP leaders had worked together to prevent the Ahmadiyya community from holding their event.
He came up with this disclosure during a law and order meeting held on Monday afternoon in the conference room of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on the occasion of celebrating Genocide Day on March 25 and Independence Day on March 26, 2023.
The Home Minister has confirmed that there is no terrorist threat on the mentioned national days celebration.
The government has decided to observe a one-minute “blackout” on the Night of March 25, marking the Genocide Day for the seventh consecutive years, he added.
