Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has instructed that all necessary preparations for the 13th National Parliamentary Election be finalized by December.
The directive was announced during a press briefing held Wednesday at 8 PM at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital.
The briefing was conducted by Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, who shared that the Chief Adviser emphasized the need for law enforcement and other logistical readiness to be in place by the end of the year.
Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder also highlighted additional preparatory measures related to the election.
The press conference was convened to provide an update on the progress surrounding the upcoming parliamentary election.
According to the Press Secretary, preparations include recruiting and training 17,000 new personnel across key security forces such as the police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and Coast Guard.
The Chief Adviser has stressed that both the recruitment and training phases must be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Given the potential for unrest in the lead-up to the election, the Chief Adviser has directed law enforcement agencies to strictly enforce the law over the coming months to ensure public order is maintained.
