Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to meet with religious leaders today (Thursday) to continue his efforts to strengthen national unity, following a meeting with political parties at the Foreign Service Academy on Wednesday.

During his meeting with political leaders on Wednesday, Prof Yunus spoke about the strength of the nation’s unity, which he believes has been built since August 5. He emphasized that no external force could weaken this solidarity or take away the country’s hard-won freedom.

"The nation stands on a solid foundation, and it will remain steadfast. No one can break our unity or strip us of our freedom," Prof Yunus said in his concluding remarks at the meeting.

He acknowledged that people may have different opinions, but insisted that everyone is united when it comes to the country‍‍`s overall unity.

Earlier, on Tuesday evening, Prof Yunus also met with student leaders, urging them to help rebuild the country.

“Prof Yunus called the students to help rebuild the nation,” said Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam after the meeting.
