Clash at Anti-Discrimination Student Movement office leaves 7 injured

A violent clash between two groups of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement resulted in seven students getting injured. 

The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at around 4 PM, at the group’s central office located in Banglamotor, Dhaka.

The injured students were rushed to the emergency department at Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Among the injured were Imran Sarkar (21) from East West University, Jannatul Mim (22) from Tejgaon College, Abrar (22), Al Amin (25), Afsar Uddin (25), Asif (24) from Kabi Nazrul College, and Masud (24), a student from Demra Boro Madrasa.

Speaking to reporters, Al Amin shared the details of the incident. He said, "There was a meeting with the coordinators from the Jatrabari zone.

During the meeting, one of our fellow activists was attacked in front of the coordinators. 

Later, when we came to the central office today to discuss the matter, we were attacked by Naeem, Asad Bin Roni, Rifat Rashid, and Hridoy. 

Several of our comrades were badly hurt and are now being treated in the emergency department."

Inspector Faruk, who is in charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, confirmed, 

"A few students arrived from Banglamotor in injured condition, and they are all receiving treatment now."

The situation has raised concerns among the members of the student movement as tensions remain high.
