Law Minister Anisul Huq on Thursday echoed that Data Protection Act would be enacted to protect data, not to control data.
The minister said while talking to the journalists after attending the conference of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.
He said that suggestion of the stakeholders regarding the act would be addresses and reflected. He also told that the draft of the Data Protection Act would be placed in parliament.
“This act is for protecting data and will be enacted as per this policy,” he added.
Regarding the Digital Security Act (DSA) Anisul Huq said his ministry could certainly amend the DSA, if necessary.
