Derailment snaps rail link with capital Dhaka

Three buggies have been derailed in Tongi railway junction area snapping rail communication with capital Dhaka.

Station Master Md. Halimuzzaman of Bimanbandar railway station confirmed the matter to TheReport.live on Tuesday (September 21).

“The buggies of a cargo train leaving Chattogram derailed at Tongi around 10:30 am Tuesday. The incident shattered rail link of the country with capital Dhaka,” Halimuzzaman said.

He, however, said no casualty has been reported yet. Higher authorities have been informed to normalize the communication. Rail movement will resume after the relief train rescues, he said.
