On December 9, Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus will meet with diplomats from 27 European countries, who are based in both Dhaka and New Delhi.
The announcement was made by Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the weekly briefing on Thursday.
Alam mentioned that during this meeting, discussions will cover a wide range of topics, including the Rohingya crisis, Bangladesh`s access to GSP+ trade benefits after graduating from LDC status, and the potential for deeper cooperation between Bangladesh and the European Union.
The diplomats are also expected to explore new opportunities for collaboration.
Since 2001, the European Union has granted Bangladesh preferential trade access under the "Everything But Arms" (EBA) agreement, which allows duty-free and quota-free access to the EU market for least-developed countries (LDCs).
This meeting will be the first time that all 27 European Union ambassadors have come together to meet the Bangladesh government.
The purpose is to show the EU`s support for Bangladesh and to work on strengthening high-level economic cooperation between the two sides.
Of the 27 ambassadors, 20 are based in New Delhi, while 7 are stationed in Dhaka.
