At around 12:30 AM on Friday (October 8) A tremor was felt in many areas of Chittagong, Sylhet and the capital Dhaka.
The earthquake was measured 5.6 on a Richter scale.
The epicentre was in Sittwe on the Bangladesh-Myanmar border, according to several media reports.
Earlier of Thursday (October 7) morning, a 5.9-magnitude earthquake in Pakistan's Balochistan killed 20 people.
