In a move to strengthen bilateral ties between Bangladesh and Turkey, the Bangladesh Army and Turkish Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday morning at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment.
According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in the afternoon, the agreement will allow both active and retired members of the Bangladesh Army to travel to various international destinations at reduced fares using Turkish Airlines for official and personal purposes.
ISPR noted that the initiative is expected to significantly reduce travel costs for army personnel and contribute to saving government funds.
Under the deal, army members will also enjoy a range of Star Alliance benefits offered by Turkish Airlines at economical rates, enhancing their operational mobility during foreign deployments and easing personal international travel.
The Army further stated that the partnership would not only bolster military-to-military cooperation between the two countries but also advance broader mutual collaboration.
