The Election Commission (EC) has begun consultations with representatives of law enforcement agencies to ensure that the 13th National Parliamentary Election is held in a free, participatory, and fair manner.
The dialogue began on Monday morning at the Election Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka.
This is the first meeting between the Commission, led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Nasir Uddin, and top officials of the law enforcement agencies as part of the election preparations. Four Election Commissioners and the EC Secretary are present at the meeting.
Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry Nasimul Gani, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam, and representatives from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Armed Forces Division, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Coast Guard, Ansar and VDP, DGFI, NSI, NTMCC, RAB, Special Branch (SB), and CID are attending.
The meeting serves as a preparatory discussion on maintaining law and order at polling centres and across electoral areas, along with other relevant issues related to the upcoming election.
