Dr. M.A. Momen, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), along with two commissioners, Miah Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi and Brigadier General (Retd.) Hafiz Ahsan Farid, have resigned from their positions.
On Tuesday (March 3), they submitted their resignation letters to Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani. Rumors of their resignations had been circulating since Monday.
Earlier in the day, ACC Chairman Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momen met with the Cabinet Secretary. Following the meeting, the resignations of the chairman and the two commissioners were officially confirmed.
The caretaker government had appointed Dr. M.A. Momen as ACC Chairman on December 12. Two days earlier, on December 10, retired District Judge Miah Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi and retired Brigadier General Hafiz Ahsan Farid were appointed as commissioners.
