Hezbollah said it launched attacks on three Israeli military sites, while the Israeli military confirmed carrying out simultaneous airstrikes in Tehran and Beirut in a sharp escalation of regional hostilities.
In statements posted on Telegram, Hezbollah claimed it fired a large missile salvo at the Nafah base in the Golan Heights and targeted the Meron and Ramat David air bases in northern Israel using drones. The group described the operation as a response to what it called Israeli aggression against Lebanese cities and towns.
The Israel Defense Forces did not immediately comment on Hezbollah’s claims. However, the military said it was conducting “simultaneous targeted strikes” against military sites in Tehran and Beirut.
IDF Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee said a wave of extensive airstrikes was under way. The announcement followed an urgent warning issued by the Israeli military to residents in Beirut’s southern suburbs and multiple villages, urging evacuation ahead of the strikes.
The IDF said its operations were aimed at Hezbollah command centres and weapons storage facilities. The developments signal a widening of the conflict, with military actions now unfolding simultaneously across multiple fronts.
