A mild tremor was felt in different parts of the country nearly 13 hours after the previous quake. The tremor occurred at 12:04:05 pm on Thursday. No immediate reports of damage were received.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the earthquake measured 3.7 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was in Sikkim, India. The quake struck at latitude 27.211 degrees North and longitude 88.215 degrees East, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Earlier, at 10:55 pm on Wednesday, another earthquake was felt in the capital and other parts of the country. The EMSC reported that the earlier quake had a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was in Myanmar, at latitude 23.0411 degrees North and longitude 94.7268 degrees East, with a depth of 101 kilometers.
The epicenter was located approximately 112 kilometers north-northwest of Monywa and about 75 kilometers southeast of Mawlaik in Myanmar’s Sagaing region.
