Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called upon everyone to be educated through digital devices to adapt to the fourth industrial revolution and create job opportunities.
She said this in response to a question after leaving the plenary session of the two-day `World of Work Summit: Social Justice for All` held in Geneva, Switzerland on Wednesday local time.
Sheikh Hasina said, "The world is changing, new technologies are emerging, and the fourth industrial revolution is underway, We don`t want anyone to get laid off."
She also said, "Education is necessary to create job opportunities. "Everyone must be educated with their digital device and learn how to use it."
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the need for international initiatives for future generations so that they can prepare themselves for the future world.
"What I feel is that the international community needs to be put at the center of international development agendas like the social justice SDGs," said Sheikh Hasina. In this context, she pointed out that there is a comprehensive social safety net program in Bangladesh and said, "There are social safety net programs for workers, farmers, elderly people, students and even working mothers or lactating mothers and disabled people."
Pointing out that the government (in Bangladesh) is giving them allowances, the Prime Minister said, ``We have created a social safety net in our best way. However, I think it should be widespread. The ILO can take the initiative and the international community must come forward to help people to ensure that no one is left behind. "
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized the need to prioritize imparting training through digital devices so that people become skilled.
She said, “We have developed digital labs and computer labs, then training and incubation centers from the school level. The younger generation gets their training and we are preparing our people.”
