Fakhrul-Akhter Take Charge of Multimedia Reporters Association

Fakhrul Islam, a staff reporter at Daily Jugantor, has been elected president of the Multimedia Reporters Association (MRA). Akhtaruzzaman, a reporter for Daily Amader Shomoy, secured the position of general secretary unopposed, while Rahmatullah, lead multimedia reporter at Banglanews24.com, was elected organizing secretary. The MRA represents journalists working in the multimedia departments of various media outlets in Dhaka.

Chief Election Commissioner Baten Biplob announced the results on Monday night after the election at the Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association (CRAB) auditorium. Among the other elected leaders, Mirajul Islam of Amader Shomoy won the post of vice-president, Abdullah Zubair Saiful of Kaler Kantho was elected joint general secretary, Abu Bakar Siddique of BanglaFlour secured the position of office secretary, and Mujahidul Islam (Antu Mujahid) of Kalbela was elected finance secretary.Abdullah Al Noman of Kaler Kantho has been elected as the publicity editor, while Fauzia Faria of Samakal secured the position of women‍‍`s affairs editor unopposed. Arefin Emon of Bangladesh Times has been elected as the training affairs editor, and Arman Mujahid of Amardesh newspaper will serve as the literary editor. Ashraful Amin of Daily Amar Desh has been elected as the cultural editor, Saimun Mubin Pallab of Banglanews24.com as the science and technology affairs editor, Mehedi Hasan Talha as the sports editor, and Abdul Hamid of Bangladesh Pratidin as the entertainment editor.

HM Mahin of Kalbela has been elected as the 1st executive member. The other elected executive members are Miraj Uddin of Kaler Kantho, Nazmul Islam of Bangladesh Pratidin, and Jihadul Islam of Nagorik TV.
