The recovery operations of capsized Ro-Ro ferry Amanat Shah which was loaded with vehicles has started on the second day.
The rescue operation is being conducted at the ferry terminal No. 5 of Paturia in Manikganj. The rescue ship Hamza launched the operation at around 8:15 am on Thursday (October 28).
Efforts will be made to rescue the truck that was trapped inside the ferry and sank, officials said.
Meanwhile, the rescue ship from Narayanganj which took off to rescue the ferry Amanat Shah that sank in Paturia was supposed to reach Paturia on Wednesday night (October 27).
However the rescue ship did not reach Paturia even in 15 hours after the ferry capsized, raising fury.
Earlier, the Ro-Ro ferry Shah Amanat carrying 17 vehicles, including a truck, sank around 9:30 am on Wednesday (October 28).
The rescue operation began immediately after the incident. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
