Classes suspended as 5 students catch Covid in Thakurgaon

At least five students tested positive for Coronavirus in a school in Thakurgaon. Of them, two are fourth-grader while the rest three are fifth-grader.

The two classes of Bahadurpara Government Primary School in Sadar upazila have been suspended after the incident.

Samples of the students were collected on Sunday (September 19). Later, the positive reports came on Wednesday.

Following the reports, the local administration suspended class activities of the two classes. However, the other classes are going on as usual.

Farhana Parvin, headmistress of the school said, the students attended classes as school reopened after 17 months following the government order.

The five students of second-grade and fifth-grade developed Covid-19 symptoms on Sunday. Later, on September 22, the test reports of them confirmed the infection.

Confirming the matter, Thakurgaon Civil surgeon Mahfuzur Rahman said, the infected victims are being inquired.

Meanwhile, he urged all to maintain health rules accordingly to contain Covid-19.
