The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has advised the country’s four seaports to hoist local cautionary signal no-3 due to increased air pressure variation over the North Bay of Bengal and its adjoining areas.
In a weather bulletin issued on Tuesday morning, the BMD stated that a significant difference in air pressure is currently prevailing over the North Bay, which may result in adverse weather conditions.
As a result of the alert, the seaports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been instructed to display local cautionary signal no-3.
The advisory also urged all fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay of Bengal to stay close to the coast and exercise caution until further notice.
