Six crocs born for first time at Gazipur safari park

The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park in Gazipur has welcomes six new inmates: crocodiles cubs -- a feat the facility saw for the very first time.

The authorities concerned hope that with the addition, tourists would experience a new level of entertainment while visiting the park. 

The eggs were hatched in early December, but the news was releaved to the media on Tuesday. 

Crocodiles have been transported to the park's enclosure from different parts of the country since the opening of the safari park.

“Six freshwater and ten saltwater crocodiles can be seen in the park right now. Six cubs are born after a saltwater crocodile laid eggs in the enclosure,” a source told reporters.

The park's officer-in-charge, Rafiqul Islam, claimed that thi is the first time a crocodile has given birth at the park since it opened.

"We hope that the baby crocodiles will help visitors to enjoy the ambiance even more,” he concluded.
