The Press Information Department (PID) has revoked the press accreditation cards of 118 more journalists, raising the total number of canceled cards to 167.
This decision was made by the interim government as part of its ongoing efforts to regulate media access.
A letter informing the affected journalists was sent out last Thursday, signed by Md. Nijamul Kabir, the Acting Chief Information Officer.
The letter explained that the revocation was based on certain rules outlined in the Press Accreditation Guidelines.
Previously, on October 29, the government had already canceled the cards of 20 journalists.
Then, on November 3, another 29 journalists were informed that their press cards were being revoked.
This move is part of a broader government initiative to enforce its media policies and ensure that press credentials are granted only to those meeting specific standards.
