Govt. again directs employees to stay office for first 40 minutes mandatorily

The cabinet division issued an order to the field level government officials and employees to stay in the office at least between 9:00 am to 9:40 am mandatorily except for emergency situations. Earlier similar directives were issued in 2021 and 2019.

Recently, the Cabinet Division has sent this instruction to all Deputy Commissioners of the districts and Upazila Nirbahi Officers through an order.

According to the instructions, the activities of the field level government offices are regularly supervised by the Cabinet Division. The division recently found many officials were not available in the office on time to make communication in field level.

As a result, it becomes impossible to establish the necessary connections between the public and the officials of other organizations. So that citizens are affected by this, the speed of government work also slows down, the directive noted.

For this, in order to increase the mobility and coordination of government activities and the convenience of the citizens receiving the services, the field level officers have been instructed to come to the office at 9am and stay in the office till 9:40am mandatorily to manage the office activities.
