The High Court bench passed the order in response to a writ petition filed by Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB)
The High Court has ordered the eviction of 74 illegal structures in the main channel of the river Buriganga in Hazaribagh and Kamrangirchar within the next three months.
A High Court bench comprising Justice Govinda Chandra Tagore and Justice Mohammad Ullah passed the order on Thursday in response to a writ petition filed by Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB) seeking necessary order.
Advocate Manzil Morshed stood for the writ petition. Meanwhile, Deputy Attorney General Arbindu Roy represented the state. Advocate Amatul Karim was present on behalf of the Department of Environment.
