State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury went to see the 92-year-old Mrs. Kambala with gifts  after the polls, who took part in the "boat‍‍` campaign.

Seeing the state minister in her yard, Kambala said, "I am very happy to see you my son."

When Member of Parliament for Dinajpur-2 Constituency Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury was campaigning before the 12th national parliament elections, Mrs. Kambala came to him.

She met with the State Minister for Shipping despite being obstructed by hundreds of people during the election campaign in Kaliaganj market, Dharmapur union, Biral upazila. She handed Khalid Mahmud a five-taka note and told him to use it for the campaign of boat.

Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, who became the Minister of State for Shipping for the second time, went to meet Mrs. Kambala for the first time after winning the 12th national parliament election. He took as a gift a picture of him with Mrs. Kambala (when she handed him over the five taka note), a shawl and a saree.

Seeing the State Minister for Shipping, Kambala said, "I am very happy, to see you my son".

At that time, Kambala said to Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, "Son, I am very happy to see you. I have no place to accomodate you but, you didn‍‍`t had to bring so many gifts with you. I am glad that you came."

Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said, "I am just like your son, that‍‍`s why I came to see you."

Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury mentioned that Mrs. Kambala was the most sacred and precious voter for him in this election and said that the importance of the right to vote can be known from an 90-year old woman.

At this time, the State Minister for Shipping also said that the work that Sheikh Hasina is doing for the people is reflected in this one person who is above 90 year old. Kambala is a witness of the father of the nation, Bangabandhu, who fought to establish human rights. Being at this age she didn‍‍`t forget her right to vote and love for the country. She even participated in the campaign for boat during polls.

Mrs. Kambala lives in a remote village of Birol, Dinajpur. Most houses of this village do not have any yard. The houses are attached to each other and the roofs of the houses are of hays.

However, Mrs. Kambala expressed her happiness to find Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury as if a son had come to his mother.  She arranged  a piece of empty space in front of her house.  Served him with with homemade pithas and sweets.

She even handed the State Minister for Shipping with a 50 taka note as a token of love.
