Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Niyaz Ahmad Khan, has stated that organizing the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election is challenging under any circumstances.
However, he warned that if anyone attempts to disrupt the election, he will reveal exactly who did what. So far, he noted, the behavior of student organizations has been encouraging.
Dr. Khan made the remarks on Saturday while delivering the presidential address at a discussion held to mark Black Day at Dhaka University.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the entire country is closely watching the DUCSU election. Efforts are being made to conduct the voting in a smooth and conducive environment, following the directives of the Election Commission. All stakeholders have been consulted as part of the process.
He also highlighted Dhaka University’s historical significance as a national institution, saying, “Unified protest against injustice is part of this university’s tradition. Any protest here resonates across the country.”
