Several Islamic parties on Friday brought out protest rallies from the national mosque Baitul Mukarram condemning Israeli attack on Gaza.
Protesters from Awami Olama League, Islami Oikya Jote, Islami Andolon Bangladesh, Khilafat Majlis and other like-minded parties brought out rallies after the Jummah prayers.
According to witnesses, their processions passed through Nightingale intersection before returning to the starting point.
Police contingents were deployed in the area as the slogan-shouting and banners-waving demonstrators marched peacefully.
Awami Olama League leaders urged the Muslims around the world to stand by Palestinians, like the way PM Sheikh Hasina stands behind people of Bangladesh.
