Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair on Friday said improving workers’ lives is important for the country’s progress.
He made the remarks while speaking at a May Day rally in Gazipur, marking International Workers’ Day.
Zubair said workers often carry out their duties at great personal risk and deserve better support and fair treatment.
The rally was held at Bhogra Bypass and organised by the Gazipur Metropolitan unit of the Bangladesh Workers’ Welfare Federation.
He called for building a fair society where workers’ rights and welfare are properly ensured.
