A fire broke out in a launch called `Mayur-7` at Sadarghat in the capital. After receiving the information, 12 units of fire service started to work to control the fire.
The launch caught fire at around 11 am today.
Confirming the matter, Fire Service and Civil Defense Media Cell Officer Anwar Hossain told the media that 5 units were immediately sent after receiving information about the fire in `Mayur-7` launch at Sadarghat. Later 7 more units went to the spot. So far the fire has not been brought under control.
The launch operates on Dhaka-Chandpur-Dhaka route. The launch had no passengers. He said that the launch was standing on pontoon number 22 of Lalkuthi Ghat. Initially, the cause of the fire and no casualties were reported. However, it is known that the fire started from the second floor.
