In a bid to curb coronavirus contamination toughest lockdown will be in place after the 7-day relaxation of restrictions ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
Earlier the government eased the shutdown guidelines which were imposed on July 1 for 14 days taking the cattle trade into consideration.
Public Administration Sate Minister Farhad Hossain said, “Cattle trade ahead of Eid-ul-Adha has a substantial impact on our economy. Considering the matter, we had to relax the prohibition of movement. But, compliance of safety protocols is a must. Everyone has to wear mask till the vaccination drive concludes. The forthcoming lockdown after Eid will be tougher to toughest.”
Farhad Hossain was addressing a graduation programme of 96th of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Chuadanga-6 on Saturday (July 17).
“All government, private offices including garment and industrial factories will remain closed from July 23 for 14 days,” the state minister said.
“Agro economy has been developing in Bangladesh. Meherpur, Chuadanga and Kushtia are agro economic areas. The region was underprivileged and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina give top priority and made every area imperative for economy,” Farhad went saying.
