A violent attack took place early on Friday, January 24, on Elephant Road in Dhaka, leaving two businessmen seriously injured.

The incident happened in front of ECS Computer City, also known as Multiplan Center, where a group of assailants brutally attacked the two men.

Things took a dangerous turn when an attempt to free the arrested suspect, Mithun, from the police station led to clashes with police officers.

Eight officers, including the Assistant Commissioner of New Market Zone, were injured in the chaos.

Earlier on the night of January 10 another attack occurred  when two businessmen, Ehtesamul Haque (42) and Wahidul Hasan Dipu, were attacked by a group of men with machetes in front of the computer city.

The shocking video of the assault went viral the next day, on January 11.

Both Ehtesamul and Wahidul are well-known figures in the business community.

Wahidul is the president of the Elephant Road Computer Businessmen Welfare Association and the senior joint convener of the Multiplan Center Business Owners Association.

Ehtesamul is the joint convener of the same association.

The disturbing footage shows a group of four or five masked attackers surrounding Ehtesamul.

They strike him repeatedly with machetes, causing him to fall to the ground.

Despite his efforts to get back up, the attackers continue their assault.

As he struggles to rise again, they keep attacking him, leaving him lying on the road.

After about two minutes, the attackers flee the scene. Surprisingly, no one came forward to stop the attack, despite pedestrians and cars passing by.

Following the violent attack, police managed to arrest Mithun, a suspect in the case.

However, an attempt was made to free him from the New Market police station. This led to a violent confrontation with the police, resulting in eight officers being injured.

The situation has left the local community in shock, and authorities are now working to maintain order and ensure the safety of everyone involved.
