The 8-year-old child from Magura remains in a critical condition on life support at Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

Despite earlier reports circulating on social media about an improvement in the child‍‍`s health, medical professionals and family members have confirmed that the child’s situation has not changed, and the child is still fighting for survival.

On Sunday night, several Facebook posts claimed that the child’s condition had improved, with some suggesting that the life support had been removed.

However, doctors treating the child and family members quickly dismissed these claims.

“The child’s life support has never been turned off. The condition is still critical. The child is fighting for life,” stated a member of the medical board overseeing the treatment.

A relative of the child also confirmed, saying the doctors informed them that the condition remains unchanged and the child is still on life support.

The child was initially brought to the hospital in a deeply unconscious state by her sister’s mother-in-law.

After a visit to the local 250-bed hospital in Magura, she was transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

Later that night, she was moved to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where she was placed on life support.

On Saturday evening, the child was transferred to CMH in Dhaka for further care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Meanwhile, the child’s mother has filed a case accusing several family members of sexual assault.

The child’s brother-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law have been arrested, and the court has placed them on remand for questioning.

The court granted a seven-day remand for the father-in-law, and five-day remands for the others.

A specialized medical team of eight expert doctors, led by the Chief Surgeon of CMH, has been formed to monitor and treat the child.

The team includes specialists in surgery, pediatric neurology, plastic surgery, pediatric cardiology, anesthesia, and thoracic surgery, among others.

The child’s condition remains dire, and the family is left hoping for a miracle while they await justice.
