Billal Hossain was sentenced to two years in jail in a narcotics case back in 2015 – but he resorted to impersonating a transgender to avoid his imprisonment upon being freed on bail.
However, all his efforts for seven long years to dodge law enforcers faded away as Billal finally ended up being caught in the capital’s Badda area on Saturday.
Shah Ali Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aminul Islam said Billal in the guise of transgender had long been averting the impriosonment.
"But in primary interrogation, he confessed to the fact that he was not a transgender. His actual identity and address were confirmed through cross-checking through biometric data," the OC added.
Billal was first arrested with contraband drugs on September 2012 and he was later convicted in this regard.
Nevertheless, out on bail, he fled the area and started deceiving law enforcers.
