Amid continued calls to stop harassment through the Digital Security Act, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has admitted the fatc that the controversial law was abused in many cases.
"What we immediately thought is to take actions regarding the DSA, which was a bit abused previously," he told a Bangla daily.
To avoid its repetition, it has been decided that permission has to be taken before making any arrests under the DSA, the minister added.
The law minister, he claimed, has already informed this to the relevant people.
"The US has lauded the step. Every country has laws like this. But sometimes overeager people in our country abuse those (laws). We are alert now so that no such incident takes place," he furthered.
