Mob beats three to death suspecting them to be "robbers"

Three people were beaten to death by a mob who suspected them to be robbers. The incident took place at Araihazar upazila of the district.

The incident took place at midnight  on Wednesday. Police recovered the bodies after receiving information from locals around 8:00 am on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Mofizul, Jamirul and Nabi. However, their details could not be known immediately.

The matter has been confirmed by Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Araihazar Police Station Anisur Rahman. He said three people were killed in a public beating this morning on suspicion of robbery .

Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police Mostafizur Rahman said the locals had beaten the three to death on suspicion of robbery at some point during last night Their bodies were recovered in the morning and sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.
