Bangladesh is a peace-loving developing nation guided by the foreign policy principle of ‘Friendship to all, malice towards none.’
However, there will be no compromise when it comes to the country`s independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty, stated Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan.
Speaking as the chief guest at the President`s Parade of the 88th BMA Long Course in Bhatiari, Chattogram, he urged newly commissioned officers to remain committed to defending the country’s sovereignty and to focus strongly on their training.
He emphasized that the Bangladesh Army’s core mission includes countering both traditional and non-traditional threats to national security.
Through successful execution of diverse responsibilities and projects, the Army has become one of the country`s most trusted institutions. He added that in the face of modern, technology-driven warfare and evolving global challenges, the armed forces must always stay prepared.
The Air Force Chief expressed confidence that the newly commissioned officers—equipped with discipline, professionalism, and modern weaponry—will be ready to make the ultimate sacrifice for the nation’s freedom and sovereignty.
A total of 155 cadets were commissioned from the 88th BMA Long Course, including 128 men, 23 women, and 4 officers from Palestine. Cadet Samrat Jabir was awarded the Sword of Honour as the best all-around cadet, while Company Senior Officer Md. Abdul Wadud Masum received the Army Chief`s Gold Medal for excellence in military subjects.
Among the foreign cadets, Palestinian Officer Cadet Sergeant Mohammad Isbe received the BMA Trophy of Excellence.
The ceremony concluded with the cadets taking an oath to protect the country’s sovereignty, followed by a symbolic moment where parents and guardians formally adorned the new officers with their rank badges.
