Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Khandkar Golam Faruq has said that no one can enter the National Eidgah with anything other than prayer mats and umbrellas while coming to perform Eid prayers. He also said that there is no specific information about the terrorist attack.
He said these things in response to journalists` questions after visiting the National Eidgah today at around 10:30 am. Earlier, DMP Commissioner observed the field security activities.
He said that apart from the National Eidgah, DMP will have special security arrangements in all the important congregations of the capital. The National Eidgah will have three levels of security. Everyone who comes to pray here will not be allowed to enter with anything other than a prayer mat and an umbrella. All must enter through the archway.
Stating that there is no specific information about the terrorist attack, DMP Commissioner said that the DB team will be in plain clothes, CTTC will work to prevent terrorist activities. Cyber monitoring has been strengthened. Also, there is no specific information about the terrorist attack. All kinds of security have been taken in empty Dhaka and the patrol has been strengthened. No one can do any major sabotage from outside.
